PLEASANT HILL, CA — Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a gang-related
killing of a cannabis delivery driver.
The victim Peter Popovich, 63, was killed during a shootout. A fourth suspect Trevon Davis, 21, was also killed.
The shootout involving an attempted robbery happened on Trowbridge Circle in Pleasant Hill on March 19, 2024.
Amir Shaw, 20, of Richmond, is latest suspect to be arrested. Shaw was apprehended on
January 29 by Pleasant Hill investigators in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Service.
Shaw remains in custody at the West County Detention Facility, ineligible for release on bond.
Two other suspects were apprehended last year.
Shaw faces multiple firearms-related charges, plus charges for murder, burglary, gang
conspiracy, and receiving a stolen vehicle. He also faces revocation of probation for his
conviction last year, for carrying a loaded firearm.
Two other Richmond residents were also arrested. Money J. Green, 21, arrested in June,
remains in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility in lieu of $2.16 million bond. Joe
Washington Jr., 19, arrested in April, remains in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility
ineligible for release on bond.
Green faces charges for murder, criminal street gang terrorism, conspiracy to commit crime,
and multiple weapons-related charges. He is also charged with driving or taking a vehicle
without owner’s consent.
Washington faces charges for intentional discharge of a firearm causing great bodily injury
and criminal street gang terrorism. His other charges are attempted second-degree robbery,
conspiracy to commit crime, and driving or taking a vehicle without owner’s consent.
