Police Reportedly Discover Stolen Mail in Vehicle After Pursuit; Three Arrested

CLOVIS, CA — A police pursuit has led to the discovery of stolen mail and the arrests of three individuals in Fresno County.
According to a press release by the Clovis Police Department, an officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the area at around 3:30 a.m. on February 5. When the officer attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, leading officers on a 23-mile pursuit to southwest Fresno.
Assisting California Highway Patrol officers deployed spike strips, which deflated the vehicle’s tires. The pursuit concluded when an officer with the Clovis Police Department used a PIT maneuver on the suspect vehicle.
After the pursuit came to an end, three suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot but were apprehended a short distance away by Clovis and Fresno Police officers. No suspects were injured during the incident.
One Clovis Police officer sustained a minor hand injury and was treated and released, police said.
Officers reportedly discovered that the vehicle contained mail from over 100 Clovis addresses. It was towed for evidence. The three suspects were identified as Yer Vue, 42, and Amanda Lizarraga, 35, both of Fresno, and Sombat Vang, 30, of Clovis.
They were booked into Fresno County jail on suspicion of mail theft, possession of stolen property and burglary tools, and conspiracy.
