ALBANY, CA — Adam K. Jones, a 49-year-old felon from Albany, was rearrested on February 4, shortly
before 1 p.m. Jones was found in possession of a firearm and two extended loaded magazines. He
was safely apprehended near a popular park.
Albany officers observed Jones, who had two outstanding warrants, walking south along the Ohlone
Greenway. He reportedly started running when officers attempted to contact him. The Albany police
caught up with Jones after crossing city limits into Berkeley. He was placed under arrest at 1:12 p.m.
Officers recovered from Jones an unregistered firearm manufactured without serial numbers,
commonly referred to as a ghost gun. The firearm had one loaded extended magazine attached to it.
Officers also recovered a second loaded magazine from him. Jones who has multiple prior felony
convictions is prohibited from possessing any kind of firearm.
Jones was transported and booked into Alameda County Santa Rita Jail. Multiple charges have been
filed against him pertaining to carrying a concealed loaded firearm. Jones also faces additional
charges for allegedly making criminal threats in January and February. He is scheduled to appear for a
pretrial hearing on March 12.
The man is a recidivist. Jones has three prior convictions for assaults, and one prior conviction for
battery. In addition, Jones has a prior conviction for vehicular manslaughter. He also has previous
convictions for petty theft, and public drunkenness.
