Kern County Man Arrested for Suspected Narcotics Sales

BAKERSFIELD, CA  ––  A Kern County man faces multiple charges amid an investigation by the sheriff’s office into the alleged sales of fentanyl.

According to a press release by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies carried out a search warrant on the 800 block of Woodrow Avenue in Bakersfield earlier this month, on February 1.

At the residence, deputies seized a loaded firearm, bear mace, around 57 grams of suspected fentanyl, and 106 grams of suspected methamphetamine, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies reportedly arrested Michael Meloche, 41, in connection with the investigation.

Days later, on February 8, deputies carried out two more search warrants on the 6500 block of Mohawk Street and the 800 block of Woodrow Avenue, respectively.

Ultimately, deputies seized four firearms, ammunition, and around 40 grams of methamphetamine, the sheriff’s office said.

Meloche reportedly faces charges of being a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance for sales, and maintaining a residence for the purpose of the sales of a controlled substance.
