Juvenile, 15, Reportedly Arrested on Suspicion of Murder in Redwood City
REDWOOD CITY, CA — “On February 6, 2025, at approximately 1:40 A.M., Redwood City Police Officers responded to the 500 block of Adams Street following a report of a subject down in the middle of the street. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the torso. Redwood City Fire personnel and paramedics quickly responded to the scene, but the subject was pronounced deceased. The victim was determined to be an 18 year old Redwood City Resident.
Later in the afternoon, investigators worked to identify persons of interest who had recent contact with the victim. Shortly after identifying a person of interest, RCPD Communications received a call for service regarding a family disturbance. The call alleged a 15 year old male juvenile assaulted another family member. This 15 year old juvenile was believed to be a person of interest in this case. Officers and investigators located this juvenile and he was subsequently arrested for assaulting a family member.
During our investigation, we established probable cause to arrest the 15 year old for the murder of our 18 year old victim. He was booked for Penal Code 187(a) – Murder at the San Mateo County Youth Services Center – Juvenile Hall. Due to the age of the suspect we are not releasing his name at this time.
While the investigation is still in its early stages, we want to assure the public that, at this time, there is no indication of any ongoing threat to the community. This appears to have been an isolated incident between individuals known to each other, and not a random act of violence.
