Man Arrested on Assault Warrant After Reported Stand-Off with Police, Deputies

UKIAH, CA. — Mendocino County authorities have reportedly arrested on an active warrant, as well as for the alleged illegal possession of a gun and ammunition, after a stand-off earlier this week.

According to a press release by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Ukiah Police Department served a warrant at a home on the 700 block of Village Circle in Ukiah on the afternoon of Wednesday, Feb. 12.

They were looking for an individual identified as Brandon Langenderfer, 32, who reportedly had an active felony warrant for alleged assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats, authorities said.

Langenderfer allegedly refused to come out and remained inside the home for the next several hours. Authorities called in additional resources, including the Mendocino County Regional SWAT Team.

Nearby residents were also evacuated as a precaution, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities eventually found Langenderfer hiding inside the house, allegedly in possession of a loaded firearm despite being legally prohibited from possessing guns or ammunition.

At that point, Langenderfer was taken into custody without further incident.

In addition to his outstanding warrant, he was booked on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as resisting law enforcement.

Langenderfer was booked into Mendocino County jail with bail set at $100,000, according to the sheriff’s office.
