Santa Cruz County Authorities Arrest Two in Fentanyl Trafficking Investigation

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — “The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office Fentanyl Crisis Response Team (FCRT), in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), has successfully concluded a year-long investigation into narcotics trafficking, resulting in the arrest of two individuals.
On February 5, 2025, with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Detectives conducted a traffic stop on Highway 17, leading to the arrest of Juan Olvera (48) of Santa Cruz and Jared Rosalli (33) of Felton. During a search of their vehicle, nearly one pound of fentanyl was seized.
Seized Items – Courtesy of SCSOOlvera faces federal charges for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, while Rosalli faces state charges for narcotics transportation.
This successful operation highlights the ongoing commitment of local, state, and federal agencies in combating the fentanyl epidemic and reducing the threat of narcotics trafficking in our community.
