LIVERMORE, CA — One man faces 295 separate charges involving commercial burglaries and
vehicle thefts in Livermore.
Oscar Barcenas-Gonzalez, 36, of Oakland, was arrested by Oakland police for an outstanding warrant obtained by the Livermore Police Department.
Following a months long investigation, Barcenas-Gonzalez was identified as a suspect in a
major commercial burglary and vehicle theft ring. He is reportedly responsible for burglaries
targeting plumbing companies, automotive shops, construction companies and trucking
businesses.
Charges were filed on February 15 against Barcenas-Gonzalez, following his arrest in
January.
Livermore police said in a prepared statement, “Gonzalez was arrested on
Livermore police’s Ramey Warrant, after being caught committing another vehicle theft in
Oakland.” Between September and December 2024, more than 40 businesses in Livermore were
victims of commercial burglaries. “Gonzalez is believed responsible for the majority of commercial burglaries in Livermore,” according to Livermore police. “He is also linked to
similar crimes throughout the Bay Area.”
Criminal associates carried out multiple burglaries during some nights, stealing vehicles, tools
and equipment. In some instances, stolen trucks rammed through roll-up doors to gain entry
for burglaries.
Investigators were able to identify Barcenas-Gonzalez as a suspect, with evidence gathered
involving a vehicle abandoned in Pleasanton. It was abandoned following a pursuit by
Livermore officers responding to an alarm, and the occupants fled. Information concerning
outstanding suspects has not been released.
The burglary ring investigation remains active. Anyone with information concerning the
commercial burglaries can contact Livermore police at 925-371-4790.
