Caregiver Arrested for Allegedly Stealing $80,000 in Jewelry from Elderly Woman in Visalia

A months-long investigation by Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Detectives resulted in the arrest of a caregiver suspected of stealing about $80,000 worth of jewelry from an 86-year-old woman under her care.
The case began on October 22, 2024, when Deputies were called to a theft at a home on the 15200 block of Avenue 292 in Visalia.
When Deputies arrived, they learned multiple pieces of valuable jewelry belonging to the 86-year-old woman were missing. They identified four caregivers as potential suspects, including 28-year-old Sandra Jarman of Visalia.
During the investigation, Detectives traced stolen jewelry to multiple pawn shops in Visalia, where Sandra had sold numerous pieces. Some of the victim’s jewelry had already been scrapped, but Detectives recovered a $10,000 diamond pendant, which was returned to the victim on February 26, 2005.
Detectives tracked Sandra’s location through cell phone data and served a warrant at her home in Visalia on February 13, 2025. Sandra voluntarily turned herself in at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office on February 26, 2025. She was booked into the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility on charges of Burglary, Grand Theft, Elder Abuse, Embezzlement, and Possession of Stolen Property.
