San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office Announces Major Fentanyl Confiscation

STOCKTON, CA — “On February 25, 2025, deputies from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop near Mariposa and Highway 99 in Stockton, for a vehicle violation. The driver, Francisco Eduardo Sandoval-Baez, consented to a search of his vehicle. During the search, K9 “Jack” was called in to assist and conducted an open-air sniff around the vehicle. K9 Jack alerted to the presence of narcotics, leading to a search of the vehicle.
Inside a speaker box, deputies discovered 8 kilograms of Fentanyl—a lethal opioid with the potential to cause millions of fatal overdoses.
The San Joaquin County Metropolitan Narcotics Task Force (METRO) responded to assist with the investigation. The driver was arrested on narcotics-related charges and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.”
