NOVATO, CA — Officers with the Novato Police Department recently arrested a man on suspicion of assaulting a woman and transporting illicit
drugs for sale.
Parrish Dejoun Marquise Wallick, 33, of Stockton, reportedly choked a female at a Brown Drive home on March. 1.
The unnamed victim’s roommate phoned police, after hearing a commotion and seeing blood.
Officers responded and forcibly opened a locked door as Wallick jumped out a second-floor window, according to officials.
“The suspect did not comply with multiple commands and warnings that a taser would be deployed,”
Novato police said in a statement. “As a result, a taser was deployed, leading to the immediate arrest of the suspect.”
Evidently, a dispute about money between the suspect and victim turned violent.
Wallick reportedly assaulted and strangled the victim, after she said she would call the police.
Officers found cannabis, cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine and other controlled
substances in Wallick’s possession. They also recovered an unspecified amount of cash and
a scale believed used for illegal drug transactions.
Wallick was booked on open charges. His charges include assault with a deadly weapon/not
a firearm, transportation of controlled substances for sale, and obstructing/resisting an officer.
In addition, he was booked for outstanding warrants related to an assault in San Joaquin
County.
Since 2014, Wallick has been arrested 31 times. His prior arrests were primarily drug-related,
involved firearms, and in some instances assaults.
