SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA — Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested a Santa Maria father and son on multiple
felony charges related to lewd acts with a child and sexual assault.
The investigation began in January of 2024 when deputies received a report from a woman
who stated that Allen Pearse, 34, “had sexually assaulted her when she was a minor.”
On March 4, 2025, armed with search warrants and arrest warrants, detectives arrested
Allen Pearse and his father, Mark Pearse, 64, at their Santa Maria residence.
The alleged crimes began in 2009 at an Orcutt apartment complex, where, in January 2025, “a
second survivor” reported that Allen Pearse had raped her. Just one month later, in February
2025, two additional survivors came forward with similar allegations.
Father and son were both transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where Mark Pearse was
charged with felony lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 14. Allen Pearse was charged
with multiple felonies, including lewd acts with a minor, digital penetration of an unconscious
person, rape of an unconscious person, and sodomy of an unconscious person.
Both men remain in custody on no-bail holds.
