TYPE AND VALUE OF LOSS:

SUMMARY: Corning Police Officers observed a vehicle displaying a California license plate which was confirmed to be expired. A traffic enforcement stop was conducted on the vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop and led officers on a pursuit. The vehicle continued evading officers throughout HWY 99W and Olivewood Road. The vehicle speeds were in excess of 80 mph throughout HWY 99W. The Vehicle came to a stop after going through a wire fence. The driver, Topete, proceeded to run from the vehicle. Topete attempted to evade Officers by hiding in the creek bed.

Topete was eventually apprehended by Officers without incident. Topete was placed under arrest and booked into the Tehama County Jail for the above charges including a Homicide Warrant out of Yuba County Sheriff’s Office. A front passenger, Eddy, was arrested for a Misdemeanor warrant without incident. Eddy and Topete were uninjured.
