Grass Valley Police and DA’s Task Force Conduct Cybercrime Investigation, Make Felony Arrest

GRASS VALLEY, CA  ––  ”Between February 12th and February 24th, 2025, the Grass Valley Police Department and the Nevada County District Attorney’s High Tech Task Force served three search warrants at three unrelated residences within the city limits of Grass Valley and in Nevada County. These warrants were served on Brighton Street & Jenkins Street in Grass Valley, and Towle Lane outside the City limits.

The service of these warrants is the culmination of several months’ worth of investigation which stemmed from tips received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMIC). These tips related directly to the possession of child pornography by several individuals. Numerous additional warrants for social media accounts preceded the residential warrants.

Several electronic devices were seized and are being analyzed for evidence related to the possession of child pornography. The investigations are ongoing, and additional information is not available at this time.

As a result of these operations, one arrest was made, and formal charges are pending on additional subjects.

The Grass Valley Police Department will aggressively investigate these cases no matter where those investigations take us. We urge parents to monitor their children’s social media, online gaming, and device use for suspicious activity. You can find out more on prevention tips and common issues on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s website here: ”
