San Francisco Police Arrest Three Suspects in Armed Robbery Investigation

SAN FRANCISCO, CA  —  Office with the San Francisco Police Department recently arrested three suspects in connection with an armed robbery that took place on the evening of February 27, 2025. At approximately 6:48 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at a commercial establishment in the 2600 block of Geary Boulevard. Two unknown suspects allegedly robbed the business at gunpoint before fleeing in a vehicle with stolen merchandise. No injuries were reported.

The following day, investigators identified the vehicle involved in the robbery. The Citywide Plainclothes Team determined that 34-year-old Joseph Baus and 49-year-old Matthew Rabbitt were potential suspects. Officers located the vehicle near 16th Street and Potrero Avenue and initiated surveillance. During the operation, they observed Baus and Rabbitt inside the vehicle along with a third suspect, 43-year-old Danielle Edwards.

As officers attempted to disable the vehicle, the suspects fled. Officers continued tracking them and observed all three individuals exiting the vehicle and attempting to flee on foot. All three were apprehended without further incident.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery and seizure of a rifle, a loaded magazine, and additional evidence. Officers established probable cause to arrest all three suspects.

Baus and Rabbitt were booked into the San Francisco County Jail on multiple charges, including robbery, conspiracy, possession of an assault weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a silencer, and resisting arrest. Additionally, Rabbitt faced additional charges for possession of a controlled substance while armed and possession of methamphetamine. Edwards was booked for resisting arrest and an outstanding warrant.
