Traffic Stop in American Canyon Leads to Arrest for Drug Sales, Counterfeit Money, and Stolen Property

”AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., March 6, 2025 – A routine traffic stop in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 6, 2025 led to the arrest of a man in possession of suspected methamphetamine, counterfeit money, and stolen property. 🚓
Just after midnight, American Canyon police pulled over a Honda Civic traveling northbound on Highway 29 near Eucalyptus Avenue for expired registration. During the stop, officers identified the driver, 44-year-old Lorenzo Chavez-Sanchez of Suisun City, and noticed that he had an open bottle of tequila in the vehicle’s center console.
Upon further investigation, officers conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered a ski mask, two counterfeit $100 bills, a scale, and packaging materials typically associated with drug sales. Additionally, several thousand dollars in cash, suspected methamphetamine, and two stolen license plates were found inside the car. 💵
Based on the evidence collected at the scene, Chavez-Sanchez was arrested and booked into Napa County Jail for possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of counterfeit bills, possession of stolen property, and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.”
