San Luis Obispo Police Arrest Man on Narcotics and Ammunition Charges Following Welfare Check

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA  —  “On 2/14/25 at around 10:45 pm, officers were dispatched to 43 Higuera for a welfare check of a man lying on the sidewalk. When officers arrived, they found a very intoxicated male on the ground bleeding from a cut on his head. While waiting for EMS to arrive, the officers located a Louis Vuitton bag next to the male that contained a wallet and ID, almost $8000 in cash and a plastic bag of white powder, approximately 35.5 grams in weight and several cell phones.

The male was identified as 44-year-old Angel Resendez of Avila Beach. Resendez was transported to a local hospital because of his high level of intoxication and to treat his injury. The white powder was later tested and found to be cocaine.

San Luis Obispo Police Detectives authored a search warrant for Resendez’s residence and vehicles. Ammunition and additional narcotics were located as a result.

Detectives placed Resendez under arrest and he is being charged with H&S 11351 – Felony possession of controlled substance, H&S 11352 – Felony possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and H&S 11395 – Felony possession of narcotics with two prior convictions and PC 30305(a)(1) – Felony convicted felon in possession of ammunition.”
