Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested Following Multi-Agency Investigation
LINCOLN, CA — “Working closely with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Detectives, investigators uncovered that Derrick Jones, 40, was responsible for at least one armed robbery.
It was on February 19, when Placer County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an armed robbery at a business in unincorporated area of Lincoln.
The suspect, armed with a handgun, stole money and property from an unidentified victim.
Detectives from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation and identified Jones of Sacramento as the suspect.
On March 13, 2025, detectives—assisted by the Sacramento Police Department SWAT and Sacramento County Sheriff’s Robbery Detectives—executed a search warrant at Jones’ residence in Sacramento. Jones was taken into custody at the scene and booked on multiple charges for the robberies committed in both Placer and Sacramento counties.
There may be additional victims of crimes committed by Jones.”
