BRENTWOOD, CA — A man recently released from prison for a firearm conviction was arrested again on March 15th.

Gustavo Montano-Razo, 35, of Concord, was locked up in connection with a vehicle theft, possession of stolen mail and illicit drugs.
Police found the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Brentwood. The vehicle was reported stolen four days earlier from a victim in Concord.

Montano-Razo who was driving the vehicle fled as the officers approached him.

“Montano-Razo ran from the vehicle, but after a short foot pursuit officers apprehended him safely, ” Brentwood police said
in a prepared statement.

It was a bad move for Montano-Razo. He is presently subject to Post Release Community Supervision, stemming from a 16-month prison sentence. His prior conviction was for possession of a
firearm by a felon or narcotic addict.

His predicament worsened. Police searched the stolen vehicle and found stolen mail, including tax
documents from a different apartment complex in Brentwood. Officers also found in Montano-Razo’s
possession illicit drugs, and other incriminating evidence.

Montano-Razo was booked on the suspicion of receiving a stolen vehicle, taking a vehicle without owner’s consent, possession of a controlled substance and stealing mail, among other charges.
