K9 Unit Detects Major Drug Haul in Traffic Stop: 48 Pounds of Meth and 2 Pounds of Fentanyl Seized

SHASTA COUNTY,  —  “On March 20, 2025, at approximately 0840 hours, a Northern Division Canine Sergeant made an enforcement stop on a passenger vehicle. After noticing several indicators of criminal activity, K9 Robbie was requested to the scene. K9 Robbie conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of the odor of narcotics.

A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, and approximately 48 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, and approximately 2 pounds of suspected fentanyl was located within the passenger compartment.”
