57 year old Concow Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of Child
CONCOW, CA — A Butte County man has reportedly been arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a child.
In a press release, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office announced that they had received information regarding the assault on Saturday, March 22. Detectives later identified the suspect in the assault as Jeffrey Funkhouser, 57, of Concow.
On Sunday, March 23, detectives carried out a search warrant at Funkhouser’s home, where they also reportedly located Funkhouser hiding behind a building on a neighboring property. He was taken into custody without incident.
Detectives also collected additional evidence in connection with the case, the sheriff’s office said.
On the morning of Monday, March 24, Funkhouser was booked into the Butte County jail on suspicion of sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10 years old and lewd and lascivious acts with a child.
The investigation is still active, the sheriff’s office said.
