SAN RAFAEL, CA — Car wash rage resulted in the arrest of a woman visiting from Fresno on
March 24.
Megan Ebert, 27, was booked at Marin County Jail, following a violent assault at
a San Rafael car wash.
A physical altercation between two women occurred at Blue Wave Express Car Wash, 990
Francisco Boulevard East. Multiple witnesses reported seeing one woman pinned to the
ground during a fight.
San Rafael officers responded shortly after 9:30 a.m., but the suspect, later identified as Ebert,
had already fled. The other woman, a car wash employee, received medical treatment from
paramedics at the scene.
Witnesses provided the police with a description of the suspect and the license plate number
of her car. It seems an argument erupted between Ebert and another customer waiting in line.
When the car wash employee intervened she was attacked.
“The employee attempted to resolve the conflict peacefully,” San Rafael police said in a
prepared statement. “Ebert attacked the employee threatening her with a knife, punching her,
and pinning her to the ground.”
An automated license plate reader detected Ebert’s vehicle in San Pablo the same day,
shortly before 8 p.m. San Pablo officers detained Ebert and released her to San Rafael
police.
Ebert was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, and battery with serious
bodily injury. She was held in lieu of $50,000 bond, prior to being released from custody,
pending further investigation.
