Hollister Police Warn of Caller ID Scam Demanding Money

HOLLISTER, CA  —  “Community Alert: The Hollister Police Department has received several calls from residents advising they received a phone call from someone claiming to be from the police department and demanding money. The caller ID on these calls list the number as our business line. This is a scam and there are ways to manipulate the caller ID to list any number.

The Hollister Police Department will NEVER call anyone and demand money. Please be aware this is a scam and do not interact with anyone who is demanding money.

If you receive a call from the police department and have any doubt you are speaking with a police staff member, you can document their name and call our number (636-4330) and confirm that staff member works here and they are trying to speake to you.
Stay alert and stay safe.”
