Modesto Police Lead Multi-Agency Crackdown on Organized Retail Theft, 28 Arrested

MODESTO, CA  —  “In a coordinated effort to combat organized retail theft, the Modesto Police Department, alongside our law enforcement partners, conducted a Countywide Organized Retail Theft Operation on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. This operation resulted in 28 arrests across Stanislaus County, reinforcing our commitment to holding offenders accountable and protecting local businesses from criminal activity.

This successful operation was made possible through strong partnerships with the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office, California Highway Patrol, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department, Ceres Police Department, and Turlock Police Department. Together, we are sending a clear message that organized retail crime will not be tolerated in Stanislaus County.

Collaboration with local businesses also played a key role in this operation. Their proactive reporting, security efforts, and continued cooperation help us take swift action against those who target our community for theft.

This is just one of many continued enforcement efforts aimed at preventing organized retail crime. Our commitment to #NotInStanislausCounty remains strong, and we will continue to work together to keep our businesses, their employees, and customers safe.
