CAMARILLO, CA —
A Camarillo man was arrested for exposing himself at an area bus stop.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of indecent exposure in the area of Embarcadero Del Mar and Seville
Road, within a stone’s throw of the UCSB campus in Isla Vista back in February.
A woman waiting alone at a local bus stop reportedly told deputies that an unidentified man
approached her and exposed himself before fleeing the area on foot.
Deputies canvassed the immediate area but were unable to locate the suspect.
Sheriff’s deputies conducted follow-up investigation and identified the suspect as 43-year-old Shaun Burree of Camarillo. An arrest warrant was issued on March 10,
2025.
The incident occurred near one of several Isla Vista bus stops frequently used by students attending UCSB. These transit areas are “known to attract loiterers and transient individuals,
especially after dark, when fewer pedestrians are present.”
The area has recently been the site of prior reported incidents involving assaults, armed robberies, and residential burglaries.
On March 27, 2025, at approximately 5:33 p.m., deputies patrolling the same area in Isla Vista
spotted Burree and his vehicle “based on a prior be-on-the-lookout alert.”
Burree was taken into custody and transported to the Santa Barbara County Main Jail where he was booked
on a charge of indecent exposure, with his bail set at $10,000.
