LOMA LINDA, CA — On March 26, 2025, at approximately 12:33 p.m., Jorge Luis Navas-Rodriguez, a 37-year-old resident of Loma Linda, was arrested by deputies and detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. The arrest took place at his residence on the 11800 block of Arliss Way in Grand Terrace, following the execution of a search warrant where evidence linked to multiple vehicle-related crimes was discovered.
The case began to unfold on March 4, 2025, when Navas-Rodriguez allegedly purchased a vehicle from a seller referred to as Victim 1 using a stolen check. The seller discovered the fraud the following day upon attempting to cash the check. Subsequently, the vehicle bought with the fraudulent check was sold to another individual, referred to as Victim 2, who was unaware of the vehicle’s tainted history.
Further investigations revealed a similar incident on March 16, 2025, involving another vehicle sale by Victim 3 to Navas-Rodriguez, also conducted with a stolen check. Following these events, Deputy Roger Alfaro of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department obtained an arrest warrant for Navas-Rodriguez.
Navas-Rodriguez faces charges under VC 10851(a) for Stolen Vehicle, PC 496d(a) for Possession of Stolen Vehicle, and PC 532(a) for Theft by False Pretenses. He is currently held at the Central Detention Center with bail set at $150,000.00.
