CAMARILLO, CA —
Three individuals were arrested, including a 15-year-old male, for their part in an organized retail theft ring.
Deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Camarillo Patrol Station responded to a report of a theft in progress at the Nike Outlet
Store in Camarillo March 26.
Store employees reported that three suspects stole more than $2,000 worth of clothing and footwear before fleeing in a vehicle.
Keshawn Howard, 28, and Isaiah Carter, 24, both of San Bernardino, and a 15-year-old male from Banning were arrested following a vehicle pursuit.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Detective Nate Rushing, “for public safety reasons, the pursuit was terminated.”
Aerial support from the Sheriff’s helicopter unit later spotted the suspects exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot into a backyard shed in a
Simi Valley neighborhood.
Deputies from Camarillo and Moorpark, along with officers from the Simi Valley Police Department and Ventura County Community College District Police Department, flooded the
area with uniformed patrol units, whereupon “all three suspects were taken into custody without
incident.”
Howard and Carter were booked on charges including organized retail theft, conspiracy, evading, and child
endangerment.
