Suspect Wanted in San Mateo County Reportedly Located & Arrested in Los Angeles

CALIFORNIA — “On April 3, 2025, at 11:00 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department Airport Division located and arrested a suspect wanted by the San Mateo Police Department for multiple weapons violations.
The investigation began on March 7, 2025, at 11:30 p.m., when the San Mateo Police Department was contacted by a community member regarding a suspicious person possibly following her from San Francisco to San Mateo. Officers spoke with the community member and learned the suspect took photographs of her car. Officers continued to investigate the incident and learned the suspect had returned to the community member’s neighborhood on multiple occasions after the initial incident.
San Mateo Criminal Investigations Bureau took over the investigation and authored search warrants. After a search of the suspect, Leqiang Wang, home was completed, officers located numerous illegal firearms, to include automatic rifles, silencers, unserialized firearms, and firearm manufacturing items.
An arrest warrant was issued for Wang. On the evening of April 3rd, Wang was located by the Los Angeles Police Department Airport Division at the Los Angeles International Airport. Wang was arrested and booked into a local county jail. Wang is currently in custody in Los Angeles and is awaiting to be transported to San Mateo County.
