Burglary Suspects Arrested After Reportedly Crashing into Police, Other Motorist During Escape Attempt

COTATI, CA — “On Friday, March 7, 2025 at approximately 3:10 PM, Cotati Police Dispatch received notification of a theft in progress at Lowes. The caller reported the suspect had committed a grand theft earlier in the day and had returned now to commit another theft. Information was received that Lowes had vehicle information for the suspect and was alerted of their return via the Flock system.
Cotati Police Officers responded and with assistance from Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Helicopter “Henry 1”, Sonoma State University Police and Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety, located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot and a suspect rapidly approached and entered the vehicle. The suspect entered the vehicle where the second suspect was waiting. The suspect then rammed into a Cotati Police vehicle and fled. Officers initiated a vehicle pursuit which entered Southbound Highway 101. The suspect entered Novato and took the De Long Ave exit where he crashed into a passing motorist in the intersection.
Both suspects attempted to flee on foot after the collision but were quickly apprehended by Officers on scene. Novato Police quickly arrived and assisted with the collision that occurred. Both suspects are currently receiving medical clearance at a hospital and will be booked into Sonoma County Jail on the following charges:
SUSPECT 1: Bryan Beardsley, 34-year-old from Fairfield, CA.
CHARGES: 487(a) – Grand Theft, 245(c) PC – Assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon, 2800.2 VC – Reckless Evading, 148(a)(1) PC – Resisting Arrest, 20001 VC – Felony hit and run with injury, 3 Warrants
SUSPECT 2: Danie Sieng, 38-year-old from Oakland, CA
CHARGES: Felony Warrant
This is still an ongoing investigation with information being received from allied agencies. Additional charges may be added as new information is received.”
