SACRAMENTO – A Folsom man is under arrest for impersonating an officer. The SCSD received a call about a car parked in the loading zone at Sacramento International Airport. The 8:50 p.m. call on August 15 indicated that the car might be a law enforcement vehicle.
A deputy discovered the vehicle, and then the driver walked out of the terminal. The driver, dressed a SCSD deputy uniform, identified himself as 33-year-old Folsom resident Brad Beaver. He further stated that he worked at the jail.
Beaver also sported a Glock handgun. His unmarked car had forward facing emergency lights.
Although Beaver was at the airport to pick someone up, he provided contradictory information to a legitimate officer. As a result, the officer cuffed and detained him.
Detectives arrived to investigate further. They then searched Beaver’s home in Folsom. There they found ballistic vests, badges, insignias worn by sheriffs.
Above all, it turns out Beaver is not a peace officer. In addition, he is not employed in any capacity in the SCSD. Nor has he eve been.
Beaver faces charges of illegal weapons possession and impersonating an officer. His bail is $1 million.
