RIVERSIDE – A recent probation search unveiled an illegal marijuana grow at a residence in the 19000 block of Covell Street. The August 30 operation conducted by the RPD sought someone with an outstanding felony warrant.
In the first place, officers encountered an armed man, there to protect a large marijuana field on the property.
Therefore the Narcotics Unit then arrived to continue the investigation. Consequently, they determined that the grow was illegal.
Law enforcement cut down and removed 400 marijuana plants (6,000 pounds worth). At full maturity, they determined that the plants would have been worth half a million dollars.
Furthermore, the RPD arrested –
- 24-year-old Luis M. Herrera Madigral;
- 48-year-old Anthony Piccoli;
- 56-year-old Ramon Vivian.
As a result, the charges include cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sales and transportation of marijuana for sales.
