SLOPD release footage of Geezer bandit robbery

The San Luis Obispo Police Department (SLOPD) is releasing partial surveillance video footage of the Geezer Bandit robbery that occurred on Dec. 2. at the Higuera Street Bank of America.

Investigators are hoping witnesses will come forward and provide information relating to the case.

The clip depicts two witnesses who stopped and watched the suspect as the dye pack deployed. The video also shows two vehicles passing the suspect while the dye pack deployed.

SLOPD is also asking for anyone who may have been in the area of the robbery on Dec. 02 between the hours of 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. and who may have seen anything suspicious to contact investigators.

Police are also seeking witnesses who saw a white vehicle traveling east bound on Marsh Street towards Johnson Street from the area of the bank.

According to SLOPD, the suspect was wearing a white long sleeved dress shirt at the time the dye pack deployed the red dye. Investigators believe the suspect’s clothing would have been covered in bright red dye. Police are asking for any persons who may have found any clothing saturated in red dye or persons seen wearing clothing covered in red are asked to contact SLOPD Investigator Eric Vitale (805) 781-7333 or Crime Stopper at (805)549-STOP.
