Jurupa Valley – A license plate inquiry on a pick-up truck in the 5400 Block of 34th Street found that it was “Stolen out of the City of Riverside.” An investigation conducted by the Region 7 Regional Gang Task Force enabled Task Force Officers to identify Andy Acuna (35) of Jurupa Valley as the “owner” of the stolen truck.
What’s more, Acuna was also in possession of two Manufactured Dangerous Weapons — a “Zip-Gun,” also known as a “Slam-Fired Shotgun,” and a “Cane-Gun,” both of which were fully loaded and operable.
At the time of his apprehension, Acuna was accompanied by Jurupa Valley resident Kayla Webb, 27, who happened to be on Post Release Community Supervision (P.R.C.S.). Both Acuna and Webb were arrested and booked into custody at the Robert Presley Detention Center.
Andy Acuna’s six charges included Manufactured Dangerous Weapons; Possession of a Cane-Gun; being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm — and in Possession of Ammunition; Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed; and Possession of Stolen Property.
Kayla Webb is charged with Violation of Post-Release Community Supervision terms.
Composed of members from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, and Riverside County Probation, the Region 7 Gang Task Force is one of eight teams comprising the “Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Opens in New Window.” The goal of the collaborative effort of 25 law enforcement agencies is combating criminal street gangs throughout Riverside County.
