MT SHASTA VISTA – A domestic violence call involving gunshots in the 11000 block of Martin Drive, came in to the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office on March 20th at 10:45 pm.
Responding officers made contact with a female victim who reported that after an altercation with her husband, she left the residence with her five children and mother. Her husband, 53-year-old Lee Xeng Yang reportedly went outside during the argument and fired a handgun, allegedly in the direction of his fleeing family.
Officers contacted the family and “ensured the victims were safeguarded.” The next morning they located the suspect around 9:00am. He was taken into custody without incident and now faces charges “several felony and misdemeanor charges including willful child endangerment, negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats.”
In addition, officers discovered 300 marijuana plants on the site, adding to Yang’s charges. Deputies recovered the firearm that they believed was used in this incident.
