Ventura – The City of Ventura Police Department, working in collaboration with the Ventura County Interagency Pharmaceutical Crimes Unit made an arrest on April 17th of a local area resident, 57-year-old Linda Thompson, following an investigation into her activities over a three month period.
According to VPD spokesman Sgt. Matthew Young, Thompson had been long suspected as a source of illegal drug sales to residents throughout Ventura County.

Those suspicions were focused on evidence indicating that she was a source of methamphetamine street sales and provided law enforcement with a court-issued search warrant of her person, vehicle, and residence.
That warrant was served on the 17th, leading to the discovery of “approximately 1 pound of methamphetamine, five loaded syringes full of suspected heroin, miscellaneous prescription medications and a large sum of U.S. currency,” all of which pointed to ongoing sales and distribution of controlled substances.
Contacted at her residence during the course of the search and ensuing investigation, Thompson was taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail, where she was booked on a charge of possession for sale of a controlled substance, with her bail set at $50,000.
It didn’t take Thompson long to post bail, perhaps indicative of the easy access to significant funds enjoyed by those trafficking in illegal narcotics. Her arraignment in Ventura Superior Court is scheduled for May 3rd, 2019.
