ANTIOCH — A man suspected of attacking and stabbing his girlfriend is being held in custody for murder. The woman was found stabbed to death inside a home during the early hours of May 19th.
Officers responding to a call at 2:48 a.m. contacted the suspect at a residence located on the 4500 block of Bighorn Court. It was quickly determined that the suspect and victim were a couple.
Apparently, the couple had been arguing, before their domestic dispute turned deadly. It seems during the heat of the argument, the suspect 32-year-old Hang Lin picked up a knife and started stabbing the woman.
The victim identified as 30-year-old Mei Juan Tang was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime. Officers immediately became suspicious of the woman’s boyfriend, who was at the home when police arrived.
Antioch police coordinated an investigation with assistance from the Contra Costa County Crime Lab. Ultimately, authorities determined the he was responsible for her death.
On May 22, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office charged Lin for the murder of Tang. In addition, Lin faces a weapons enhancement charge for using a knife to cause the victim’s death.
Lin remains in custody in county jail, as authorities proceed with this ongoing investigation.
