Police name suspect in murder of Fairfield woman
Fairfield police are searching for a man they believe killed a 19-year-old woman found by police on March 31.
According to a Thursday press release, a no-bail arrest warrant was issued for Warren Sloan, 41, of Fairfield. Sloan, who has a history of violence and is considered dangerous, is wanted for the murder of Cheynah D. Watson, as stated in the Daily Republic. Watson was found stabbed to death early Saturday morning behind a home on the 800 block of Fourth Street.
Sloan is described as having dark skin, is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 205 pound, and has black hair and brown eyes.
Watson’s murder marks Fairfield’s sixth homicide of the year, four of which occurred in the month of March. Quincy Quinney, 26, of Suisun City, was shot and killed on January 7 at an apartment complex at 2000 Clay Bank Road. Jesus Amaya, 20, of Fairfield, was shot on the 1000 block of Hayes Street.
Vedell Jamar Chew, 24, of Fairfield, and Bernard Francis Knight, 18, of East Palo Alto, where both shot in a double homicide in a parking lot at the Parkway Garden apartments on March 7. Clarence James, 47, of Fairfield, was shot in front of a home on the 1100 of Hayes Street.
According to the Daily Republic, police are asking anyone with information about Watson’s death or the whereabouts of Sloan to call the Fairfield Police Department at 707-428-7300 or an anonymous tip line at 707-428-7345.
