Two Citizen’s Arrests in the last 8 days
On Wednesday, April 5, Oakland resident Alfonso Peter Ocon, 33, was arrested by a citizen-onlooker who suspected Ocon was shoplifting from a Lucky’s supermarket in the 800-block of Marina Village Parkway.
Ocon was detained by the citizen until Alameda Police arrived shortly after.
The responding officers found narcotics, narcotics paraphernalia and property that had been previously identified by an unrelated third-party as lost/stolen on Ocon’s person. Ocon also had two outstanding warrants out for his arrest – one for a misdemeanor and the other for a felony.
On April 11, the following Wednesday, Frank Lynn Keller was placed under Citizen’s Arrest by a South Shore Center Safeway employee trained in loss prevention. Once police arrived, Keller was found to be in violation of his probation.
