JACKSON RANCHERIA – After midnight on August 2th at the Jackson Rancheria, Tribal Security called the Amador County Sheriff’s Office to report that they had spotted a car in valet parking with a handgun on the floor.
Three Hispanic males got out of the car, and went into the casino. Deputies came upon the car, identified only as a red Honda, and saw the Glock 43 “in plain view on the driver’s side floorboard.”
The three males were located and detained, and the gun was recovered and a records search performed. The records search indicted the gun had been stolen during a vehicle burglary in Lodi.
The driver of the Honda, Rene Rodriguez, is a convicted felon. He also has a restraining order out against him.
Rodriguez “was placed under arrest for felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm with a restraining order, felon in possession of ammunition, felon carrying a loaded firearm, carrying a loaded stolen firearm.”
