ORLAND — A man has been sentenced to 10 years in state prison after being convicted of a felony first degree robbery, which occurred on March 26th.
The suspect, 52-year-old Kenneth Stephen Meza, reportedly walked into the Redding Bank of Commerce on Walker Street while wearing a “UC Davis Dad” sweatshirt and passed the teller a note that said, “give me the money, this is not a joke, this is a robbery.” He ended up leaving with $2,990.
Investigators determined that he had not been armed at the time.
The robbery kicked off an extensive manhunt, in part because Meza was also wanted on a parole hold.
He was finally arrested in Santa Clara County on Saturday, April 27th, with assistance from the FBI and U.S. Marshall Office.
