Rancho Cordova shooting suspect arrested in Oregon

RANCHO CORDOVA — The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to a shooting in Rancho Cordova on Saturday, September 8.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office received a call just after midnight reporting that an adult male had been shot, and that the caller was driving him to the hospital.

Unfortunately, he was soon pronounced deceased.

The suspect, 37-year-old Faron Mello of Sacramento, was taken into custody in Oregon and is due to be extradited to Sacramento County.
