Ventura County – On the list of “Top 10 Boyfriends You Don’t Want,” 32-year-old Camarillo resident Anthony Michael Garcia might easily qualify for the top slot.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Det. Sgt. Rob Yoos, Garcia was the subject of a September 26th search warrant served upon his residence by “members of the Directed Enforcement Unit, East County Major Crimes Unit, and patrol K-9 Units.”
He was taken into custody at that time and transported to Ventura County Jail. Evidence supporting his arrest was gathered during a two-week-long investigation that began on September 9th when Thousand Oaks Police Department deputies were summoned to a local hospital.
It was there that the cops met “a female victim who had been battered by her ex-boyfriend” and who had “received notable injuries from the assault.” The victim reported Garcia as her ex-boyfriend, adding that he had taken her vehicle “by force.”
The victim’s car was located a week later, but Garcia was nowhere to be found. An arrest warrant for Garcia was issued just as TOPD detectives learned Garcia was “connected to a residence” in the Camarillo area. With that information in hand, on September 26th, the cops showed up at the residence address in force and took Garcia “into custody without incident.”
Garcia was booked on charges of carjacking, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, and domestic violence. Those charges, along with other outstanding warrants earned him both a cash bail of $65,000 and a no-bail hold for violation of the terms of his Post-Release Community Supervision.
