UKIAH — Two individuals have been arrested on suspicion of a robbery and conspiracy after an incident early last week.
At around 1:30 AM on Tuesday, October 15, a man called police dispatch to report that he’d been robbed of money and drugs at gunpoint by two other men, then said he was following them near the intersection of Oak Manor Drive and East Gobbi Street.
Responding officers, based on information provided, began searching the creek bed east of Highway 101 while a Sheriff’s Deputy posted up near the Kings Court business park in case the suspects came by.
Not long afterwards, a man identified as Christopher Ray Garcia (38) was discovered in the brush after crossing a freeway guard rail north of Kings Court and detained.
Police soon discovered the crime in question had been a residential robbery and fell under the jurisdiction of the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office.
Garcia was identified as a primary suspect and taken into custody on suspicion of first degree robbery of an inhabited dwelling and conspiracy to commit crimes, for which he was booked into the county jail.
Authorities also identified 34-year-old Anthony Christopher Rojas as the second suspect and issued a BOLO alert. The next day, October 16, officers arrested him on the 200 block of Ford Street on the same charged as Garcia.
Both are now housed at the county jail on $150K bond each.
