A convicted felon was arrested on a litany of new charges after allegedly being caught in possession of a stolen vehicle last week.
At around 10 AM on Tuesday, November 26, Calaveras County deputies arrived on the 1000 block of Knief Lane in San Andreas to make contact with 33-year-old Brian Dehart, to whom they had traced a stolen vehicle.
Deputies found and searched the vehicle, discovering a loaded 9mm handgun, which constituted a violation of Dehart’s probation status and gave them clearance to conduct a search of his home.
Inside, they found around 58 grams of methamphetamine, around 4 pounds of marijuana, a rifle, ammunition, and evidence of drug sales.
Dehart was arrested and booked at the Calaveras County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of marijuana for sale, maintaining a drug house, vehicle theft, cruelty to a child, being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed dagger, and possession of fireworks.
He is being held without bail.
