San Francisco couple face counterfeiting and forgery charges, among many others

A San Francisco couple has been arrested on a litany of charges, including counterfeiting and forgery, after an investigation by the Taraval Neighborhood Team.
It began with an incident just before 7:30 PM on November 2, when SFPD Taraval Station officers responded to the Stonestown Galleria on reports of a man with a gun.
A counterfeiting suspect, later identified as 41-year-old Daniel Rizzi Shrum of San Francisco, had reportedly dropped a gun and fled out into the parking lot. Responding officers detained Shrum but didn’t find a gun.
Nonetheless, he was cited for passing a fictitious bill, possession of suspected methamphetamine, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
Authorities then began an investigation into Shrum and his girlfriend, 32-year-old Tiny Amber Brown of Daly City, obtaining two search warrants — one for Shrum’s residence on the 2000 block of 33rd Avenue, and one for Brown’s residence on the unit block of Alpine Avenue in Daly City.
Both warrants were served on the morning of Tuesday, December 10. Multiple articles of evidence were seized including a Ruger 9mm handgun, a Springfield Armory 9mm handgun, brass knuckles, suspected methamphetamine, counterfeit identification documents, and $6,800 in counterfeit US currency.
Shrum and Brown were both booked at the San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, commission of a felony while armed with a firearm, criminal storage of firearm accessible to a child, child endangerment, possession of a prohibited weapon, counterfeiting, forgery, unauthorized use of personal identifying information, and narcotics charges.
