Grass Valley PD issues press release on evasion, pursuit arrest

“UPDATE 1/12/2020: At approximately 1120 hours, Mr. Niece was spotted by some alert citizens in the Cascade Shores area and was taken into custody by NCSO Deputies.
On January 10, 2020, at approximately 9:05 AM, a CHP – Grass Valley unit attempted to stop the suspect vehicle for expired registration on Banner Lava Cap Road. The suspect failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. During the initial stages of this pursuit, law enforcement became aware that the suspect and vehicle were wanted for multiple warrants for charges including, but not limited to, felony evading arrest, felony resisting arrest, and possible assault with a deadly weapon with the vehicle involved. The pursuit traversed the Banner Mountain Area and Greenhorn Creek river bed into rural Nevada County. Law enforcement personnel from NCSO, GVPD, Placer SO, Grass Valley and Gold Run CHP and air-operations, converged on the area and conducted an extensive search. The suspect was able to evade law enforcement personnel within the rural terrain.
The suspect was last seen south of eastern SR-20, east of the Cascade Shores Area. The suspect should be considered very dangerous. Do not engage hitchhikers or pedestrians in the area. If you have any information, or come into contact with the suspect, please call 911 immediately.”
