A Sacramento man was arrested last week after a Placer County deputy who initially saw him run a stop sign then bore witness to the bizarre actions that followed.

One afternoon on the week of January 30, a deputy saw 32-year-old Steven Hibbs of Sacramento run a stop sign at the intesrection of PFE Road and Billy Mitchell Road in Roseville. The deputy followed Hibbs — during which he noticed his registration had been expired for a year — to a house on Sword Dancer Drive.

There Hibbs got out of the car and started banging on the front door of the house, then started looking through the windows. Eventually, he got back into his car and drove off. At that point the deputy pulled him over.

A search of his vehicle turned up shotgun shells, as well as a shotgun in the trunk. It also turned out Hibbs had been riding with a passenger who claimed the shotgun was his.

Nonetheless, Hibbs was arrested and faces charges of felon in possession of ammunition and driving on a suspended license.
