Hollister Police have arrested a juvenile suspect on suspicion of illegally selling Xanax pills after four high school students were hospitalized.
On Tuesday, January 28, San Benito High School staff began looking into suspected drug sales in Hollister. A school resource officer soon discovered someone was selling Xanax locally via Snapchat.
The officer then learned that four students had been hospitalized after consuming suspected Xanax pills. Fortunately, they were treated and later released.
Police traced the sales of the pills to a juvenile suspect who lives on the 800 block of Central Avenue in Hollister, where they served a search warrant on Friday, January 31.
At the home, authorities located a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and a .22 caliber rifle, which another resident at the home claimed were his. Nonetheless, they were seized pending further investigation.
The juvenile suspect was booked at the San Benito County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of providing a controlled substance to a minor.
