LOS BANOS – After midnight on February 3, a Sergeant with the Los Banos Police Department spotted a Honda sedan speeding away in the 900 block of Pacheco Boulevard.
The front glass of a nearby business was interrupted. It appeared as if a burglary in progress had been interrupted.
Officers followed the driver of the fleeing vehicle until he pulled over on the 600 block of Pacheco Boulevard.
Video surveillance from the crime scene confirmed the license plate of the fleeing vehicle as well as the distinctive clothing the burglary suspect wore.
John Robert Desa was arrested but resisted before being put into a patrol car. Officers found the clothing and ski mask that Desa just had on.
Charges against Desa include attempted commercial burglary, felony vandalism and resisting arrest.
