SAN JOSE – The San Jose Police Department recently arrested three suspects after two separate homicides.
On July 14, 2016, Martin Cardenas was shot while in the 700 block of E. Mission Street. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and later released. In January 2017 Jesse Michael Jimenez was arrested for the shooting, booked for attempted murder.
Then, on October 25, 2018, victim Cardenas, after a few days in the hospital, died.
The SJPD says, “On Sunday, February 2, 2020, the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office reviewed the facts of the case and ruled the manner of death a homicide. Jimenez remains in custody and his charges will be amended to murder – 187 PC (felony).”
On Wednesday January 15, Richard Nguyen was shot once and pronounced deceased at the scene (Clayton Road and Squeri Drive).
Two suspects were identified in the shooting – 33-year-old Marcus Pardohendry and 28-year-old Richard Torres.
On February 11 Torres was arrested in Santa Clara with the assistance of a K-9 officer due to his non-compliance. He was booked into Santa Clara Jail for murder.
On February 12, Pardohendry barricaded himself in a residence in the 2500 block of Vista Verde Drive after officers tried to apprehend him. About 12 hours later, the suspect came out of the residence but was in no mood to comply.
The SJPD reports, “Officers discharged a projectile impact weapon at Pardohendry twice and used a K9 to take him into custody. Pardohendry was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment and will be subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Jail for murder.”
